Changes on prescriptions
We prefer that you call ahead for medication and food refills. If you need refills on a prescription medication, we are asking for 48-72 hours to complete. Our doctors’ schedules vary and, in most cases, the prescribing doctor must also be the doctor who approves refills. This absolutely is the case if it involves a controlled substance. Please plan ahead to avoid disruption in dosing.
Beginning May 1 of 2021, we will no longer approve prescriptions requested by any large 3rd party pharmacy (ie; Chewy, 1-800 PetMeds, Pet Care RX, and others.) We are inviting you to purchase your prescription food and medicine through our online pharmacy, VETCOVE. Vetcove offers the same convenience and value of larger online retailers but allows our team to guarantee the medical integrity of the products you are being sold and using on your family member. Shopping local helps support our practice and our community. We are willing to work with local retailers to help you secure medications. If you still wish to continue to work with large external pharmacies, we will require you to pick up a written script from our office.
Thank you for understanding and continuing to support our office and allow us to provide the highest quality care for your pet.
We look forward to seeing you and your furry friend soon!
